Test – Netflix (April 4)

Test marks Netflix's inaugural Tamil Original release for this year. The film features prominent actors Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, and Meera Jasmine. It is both written and directed by S Sashikanth and revolves around a cricket-themed narrative. In the story, Siddharth portrays an experienced batsman struggling with his performance, while Nayanthara plays a school teacher longing for a child, with Madhavan taking on the role of her husband, a scientist.

Gentlewoman - Tentkotta (TBD)

Featuring Lijomol Jose, Losliya Mariyanesan, and Hari Krishnan in prominent roles, Gentlewoman tells the story of a couple living a traditional lifestyle until an unexpected event occurs, leading to a significant revelation. The situation becomes increasingly complex with the introduction of another woman, raising inquiries about her relationship with the couple. Directed by Joshua Sethuraman in his inaugural directorial effort, this film is among the latest releases that highlight female leadership.

Kingston - TBD

Kingston is a fantasy drama centred on a maritime adventure, featuring GV Prakash in the principal role. The film marks the directorial debut of Kamal Prakash and is produced by GV Prakash himself. The narrative unfolds in a fishing village that is prohibited from venturing into the sea due to the belief that the waters are cursed. The cast includes Divya Bharathi, Ilango Kumaravel, Azhagam Perumal, and Chetan, among others.

Yamakaathaghi, helmed by director Peppin George Jayaseelan, is a supernatural mystery thriller set in a village. Following the tragic suicide of a young girl, her spirit and body linger in the home while the family prepares for her funeral. The film features notable performances by Roopa Koduvayur, Narendra Prasath, and Geetha Kailasam, among others.

Perusu - Netflix (TBD)

Perusu, directed by Ilango Ram, is a dark comedy aimed at adult audiences. The cast includes Vaibhav, Sunil, Niharika NM, Chandini, and Munishkanth, among others. The plot revolves around the family of a respected elder from the village who passes away due to a post-mortem erection, leaving them in a state of embarrassment as they navigate the preparations for his funeral while concealing this unusual circumstance.

Sweetheart! - TBD

Sweetheart! features Rio Raj and Gopika Ramesh in the principal roles. The narrative centres on a young couple facing the challenges of pre-marital pregnancy, with the female protagonist confined to her home by her parents. This romantic drama is produced and composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with direction by Swineeth.

Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 – TBD

Directed by SU Arun Kumar, the film features Vikram in the lead role, alongside Dushara Vijayan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, SJ Suryah, and others. The musical score for the film is composed by GV Prakash.
