Sweetheart, the recently released Tamil romantic drama, is approaching the conclusion of its theatrical run and is set to debut on streaming platforms soon. JioHotstar has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for the film, which features Rio Raj and Gopika Ramesh in the leading roles. The streaming service announced on Tuesday that the film will premiere on April 11.

Renowned composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, known for his work on films such as Maamanithan and Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, has also produced Sweetheart under his banner, YSR Films.

The 2025 Tamil romantic drama Sweetheart stars actors Rio Raj and Gopika Ramesh. After its theatrical release in March, the film is now poised for its OTT debut. JioHotstar has confirmed that it will be available for streaming starting April 11.

The narrative of Sweetheart revolves around two lovers who separate but are compelled to reunite when the girl reveals her pregnancy. Confined at home by her strict family, the boy must find a way to meet his ex-girlfriend discreetly.

The film is both written and directed by Swineeth S. Sukumar, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The supporting cast includes Renji Panicker, Redin Kingsley, Arunachaleswaran Pa, Fouziee, Suresh Chakravarthy, among others. Cinematography was handled by Balaji Subramanyam, and the editing was done by Tamil Arasan.
