Even as Tamil entertainment space is yet to make it big in the OTT space, Pushkar and Gayatri’s series Suzhal is one of the known Tamil series. The makers recently announced the premiere of the second season on Prime Video. For those who have watched the first season know that it a crime thriller series set in a small town.

With the theme of a small village set against a big festival and a crime taking place, the second season will see the cast of first instalment along with some new faces. Ahead of Suzhal 2 premiere on February 28, here’s what you can expect from it.

What to expect from second season of Suzhal: The Vortex?

Suzhal: The Vortex Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on February 28. Directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, this crime thriller features Aishwarya Rajesh, Kathir, and a talented ensemble cast. The first season centers on the mystery of a missing teenage girl, highlighting her sister Nandini's relentless pursuit to find her, ultimately confronting their shared childhood trauma and the killer.

The upcoming season will pick up from the conclusion of the first. Following her imprisonment for the murder of the assailant, Nandini faces despair when her defense attorney, senior activist Chellapa, is murdered. Sakkarai, a police officer involved in the investigation and a friend of Nandini, is called upon to support the family during this tumultuous period. While the inaugural season unfolded during the Mayanakolai festival, the second season will be set against the Ashtakaali Festival backdrop. Suzhal 2 promises to delve into family secrets, betrayals, and past actions that continue to influence the present.

The upcoming second season will feature an expanded ensemble cast, which will include both returning actors and new talents. Among those confirmed are Kathir, Aishwarya Rajesh, Lal, Saravanan, Manjima Mohan, Kayal Chandran, Gouri G Kishan, Samyuktha Viola Viswanathan, Monisha Blessy, Rini, Shrisha, Abhirami Bose, Nikhila Sankar, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Ashwini Nambiar, Chandini Tamilarasan, and others.

The series, created by Pushkar and Gayatri, is directed by Bramma and Sarjun KM, and is set to premiere on February 28.
