Kanguva, the ambitious project of popular actor Suriya and filmmaker Siva, is gearing up for an October 2024 release. The movie, which is touted to be a period fantasy thriller with elements of time travel, features the National Award-winning actor in a double role. Bollywood actor Bobby Deol is playing the lead antagonist in Kanguva. However, the recent updates suggest that Siva’s film might mark Suriya’s first onscreen collaboration with his younger brother and popular actor, Karthi.

Suriya and Karthi to come together for Kanguva?

In a recent interview with a leading Tamil media, lyricist Viveka hinted that Suriya and Karthi are finally sharing the screen in Kanguva, the upcoming period fantasy film. The new update came out as a big surprise for the actor siblings’ fans and cine-goers, who have been eagerly waiting to see them together on the silver screen. According to the reports, Karthi is making a cameo appearance in the climax of Kanguva, in the portions that will lead to the plot of the next installment. 

Interestingly, Suriya is playing the lead antagonist in the highly anticipated film, while Karthi is expected to appear in a negative role. The grapevine suggests that the intense face-off sequences between the star siblings will be the biggest highlight of the climax. So, it is safe to assume that the audience will get a chance to watch Suriya and Karthi together on screen, sooner than expected. The duo is also expected to come together for Kaithi 2, the next installment of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU.

All about Kanguva

For the uninitiated, Suriya is all set to appear in a double role as the leader of an ancient tribe, and a modern man, in the upcoming Siva directorial. Madhan Karky, the renowned lyricist-writer invented a new Tamil dialect for the period portions of Kanguva. The movie, which is being made in two parts, is touted to be the most expensive project in its leading man’s acting career. Disha Patani is playing the female lead. Devi Sri Prasad has composed songs and original score for the film, produced by Studio Green.
