Suriya, the popular actor is currently going through a tough phase in his career with the massive failure of his recent outing, Kanguva. However, the National Award-winning director is all set to bounce back, with some promising projects in his kitty. Suriya is teaming up with RJ Balaji, the actor-filmmaker, for his 45th outing in Tamil cinema. Trisha Krishnan is reportedly playing the female lead in the film, which has been tentatively titled Suriya 45.
Swaswika to play a key role in Suriya 45?
If the recent updates are to be believed, Malayalam actress Swaswika, has reportedly joined the star cast of the upcoming Suriya starrer, directed by RJ Balaji. The talented actress, who recently earned so much love from the audiences with her performance in the recent Tamil film Lubber Pandhu, is reportedly playing a pivotal role in the highly anticipated film, which is touted to be a “devotional entertainer”. The Suriya 45 makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast.
Suriya 45: Here’s what we know
As per the recent updates, Suriya 45 is an action-adventure film, which is reportedly in a different timeline. The grapevine suggests that the RJ Balaji directorial is being made on a massive scale. Interestingly, writer-director reportedly took over a year to finish the scripting of the film, which was initially offered to Thalapathy Vijay. Suriya’s character in the film is expected to have a touch of fantasy and mythology.
RJ Balaji, the director, is also expected to play a pivotal role in the film, along with cinematographer-actor Natarajan Subramaniam, aka Natty. AR Rahman, the Academy Award-winning musician has been roped in to compose the songs and original score for Suriya 45. If things go as planned, the much-awaited project, which is bankrolled by SR Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures, will get a late 2025 release. More updates on the film are expected to be out by the last week of December 2024.
