There's some cool news for fans eager to see filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj team up with actor Suriya for the first time. To celebrate Christmas, the team behind their new movie dropped the title for Suriya 44 along with a teaser that offers a glimpse into what to expect.

What's included in the teaser?

The two-minute and five-second teaser kicks off with Suriya and Pooja Hegde chilling by a Varanasi ghat, the evening aarti setting a serene vibe. Pooja is rocking a light pink sari while Suriya is in a black kurta. As she ties a band around his wrist, he gazes into her eyes and says in Tamil, “I’ll keep my temper in check. I’m done working with my dad. No more violence, rowdyism, or hooliganism… I’m leaving all that behind from now on. I’ll focus on smiling and being happy. The reason I was born, in your words, my Dhammam, is love. Pure love. That’s all there is to it. So, what do you say, should we tie the knot?”

Pooja kisses him on the forehead, nods in agreement, and takes his hands with a smile. Interspersed in this moment are flashes of Suriya’s darker side – the criminal path he’s on, following in his father’s footsteps. We catch glimpses of him smashing through walls in anger, beating up and killing guys, and sharing cigarettes and drinks. There are also quick shots of other intimidating characters played by Joju George, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, and Nasser, among others.
