The highly anticipated update from the creators of Suriya 44 has been released. In celebration of Christmas, the producers have revealed the title of Suriya 44 as Retro.
The teaser opens with Suriya and Pooja Hegde seated by a temple pond, where Pooja ties a thread around his wrist. In exchange, Suriya vows to abandon his anger, interspersed with scenes of intense action. He also declares his intention to cease working with his father, who is unveiled as Joju George, a formidable gangster. As Suriya commits to transforming himself into a better individual, Pooja Hegde responds with a warm smile. He expresses his desire to lead a joyful life and discover purpose through love. In response to his marriage proposal, Pooja gently kisses his forehead, and they share an embrace. The title teaser concludes with the revelation of "Retro," showcasing Suriya smoking while holding a drink.
Suriya 44 release date
The forthcoming film will represent the inaugural collaboration between Karthik Subbaraj and Suriya. In addition to Suriya, the cast includes Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj, among others. Notably, actress Shriya Saran will make a special cameo appearance in a dance sequence.
Produced by Stone Bench Films and 2D Entertainment, this project is anticipated to be a romantic action film. The music for Retro is being composed by Santhosh Narayanan, a frequent collaborator of Karthik Subbaraj. The cinematography is managed by Hreyaas Krishna, while the editing is overseen by Mohammed Shafique Ali. The art direction is led by Jacki and Mayapandi.
Retro is scheduled for release in the summer of 2025, although a specific date has yet to be confirmed.
