Actor Suriya, who is expecting the release of Kanguva, is currently shooting for his upcoming film tentatively titled Suriya 44. The latest is that the actor will be joining the team in Kerala for a shooting schedule planned in Thodupuzha in Kerala.

Suriya 44 shoot update

Suriya, who was last seen as Rolex in Vikram, is expecting the release of Kanguva. Meanwhile, the actor has also started working on his next with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. The film is tentatively called Suriya 44 and has gone on floors earlier this year. Now, in the latest, Suriya has joined the team to shoot in Kerala's Thodupuzha region. Suriya 44 marks the first time the actor is collaborating with director Karthik Subbaraj.

Besides Suriya, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Karunakaran, and Joju George in other pivotal roles. Santhosh Narayanan is composing songs and the original score. Suriya 44 is bankrolled by Suriya’s home banner, 2D Entertainment. Touted to be a gangster drama, Suriya 44 is yet to get a release date. The makers have already shot some significant portions of the film at the various locations of Port Blair in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Ooty, and the Idukki district of Kerala.

Suriya’s next Kanguva

Suriya will be next seen in Kanguva which is directed by filmmaker Siruthai Siva. The film was initially expected to release on October 10. However, after Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan also locked the same day, Suriya recently confirmed that his film will not be clashing with it. A new release date for Kanguva is yet to be announced, although speculations suggest that it is eyeing for a November release.

Kanguva also stars Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Yogi Babu and others. The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video for a fancy price. Kanguva is touted to be a fantasy action drama, spanning across various timelines.
