David Corenswet is stepping into the role of Superman in the first official poster. On Monday, director James Gunn shared the motion poster on his Instagram. The movie, featuring Corenswet as the iconic hero, is set to hit theaters worldwide on July 11, 2025.

James posted a motion poster for the movie on his Instagram, featuring an epic musical score. It showcased David Corenswet rocking the Superman suit, complete with the classic red briefs, zooming through the air. He captioned it: “Look up. #Superman hits theaters July 11.”

Fans were super excited in the comments after seeing the post. One person said, “That score is amazing! It sounds really promising. So crucial.” Another chimed in with, “We’re all set!” Someone else mentioned, “I’m getting chills! July can’t come soon enough!” And another comment said, “David Corenswet is the new Superman! James Gunn shared that the official Superman trailer is dropping on Thursday. A fan couldn't contain their excitement, saying, “OMG, I’m seriously crying right now! I woke up to a poster and a teaser! Oh sweet baby Kryptonian gods! We’re winning! I’ve got chills! The party’s on for Thursday!” Another fan chimed in, “I’m not sleeping until then!”

The Warner Bros DC movie features Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult stepping into the role of the notorious supervillain Lex Luthor. The cast also includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, among others.

James announced on social media that they wrapped up filming for Superman on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. In a touching post on the micro-blogging platform, he expressed, “And that’s a wrap. Huge thanks to our cast and crew for their dedication, creativity, and hard work that made this project a reality. I aimed to create a film about a good man in a world that isn’t always kind. The goodness, kindness, and love I’ve experienced daily on set have motivated me, especially when I felt drained.”

This film will be the first feature under Gunn and Peter Safran’s leadership at DC.
