Nani is out with his new film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram which Vivek Athreya has directed. The action drama was released on a Thursday, August 29, 2024, to capitalize on the long weekend here in Telugu states. Due to this, the occupancy is not that great compared to Nani's previous hit Dasara.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram's day one collections are here
The day one numbers have been locked and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has grossed Rs 24 crore worldwide on day one. This number is combined from all the languages released in India. When it comes to Telugu states, the film has made a share of Rs 6.2 crore which is a bit less seeing the hype created for the film. This is Nani's third biggest opening behind Dasara and MCA which made Rs 12 crore and 8 crore respectively.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has done well in the US as it made $850k on day one of its release. The collections are a bit low as the film was released on a Thursday. The trade is expecting big numbers on the weekend as there are no other big films that have come out in Telugu.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram breakeven number to be in a safe zone
We have also come to know that the film needs to make at least Rs 30 crore share in Telugu states to be in a safe zone. Everything depends on how the film fares in the next two days. Once the weekdays start, the film will find it very difficult to perform. As the film is an action drama, the family audience will turn in fewer numbers.
But the team is not at all bothered and is super confident that the film will rake in big numbers at the box office. At present, the film has taken a decent start but not as expected from Nani. Priyanka Arul Mohan played the female lead in this film which also had SJ Suryah as the main villain.
Jakes Bejoy has composed the music and DVV Danayya, the producer of RRR has helmed the film on a huge budget. Sai Kumar was seen in a key role in this film whose OTT rights have been bagged by Netflix. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
