In a recent interview, Sunny Singh shared his thoughts on the anticipated comparisons between The Bhootnii and Stree. He downplayed these comparisons, stating, "I understand that people will draw parallels, considering they belong to the same genre. However, that was Raj and Shraddha’s (Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor) film, and this is ours. Such comparisons are more common in romantic comedies."

He also mentioned that The Bhootnii was filmed in 2022, prior to the significant success of Stree 2. "In the realm of horror comedies, romance serves as a common element; although the settings may be similar, the narratives differ. This distinction is what sets them apart," he stated.

Sunny indicated that viewers can expect to experience both fear and humor from The Bhootnii, noting that children, in particular, will find the film enjoyable.

Regarding the horror-comedy genre, Singh remarked, “It has always been a favorite among audiences. Initially, it was purely comedic, but the incorporation of horror has enhanced its entertainment value. I always envisioned working in this genre, and now that vision has come to fruition.”
