Roopesh Shetty, the winner of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 and a talented actor-filmmaker, is currently hard at work on his third Tulu film, Jai. The project is almost wrapped up, with the last shooting schedule kicking off soon. Roopesh is planning to reveal a special cameo appearance on January 12. Before that announcement, he shared a video on social media teasing fans about a superstar joining the Tulu film scene, encouraging everyone to guess who it might be.

Sudeep or Suniel Shetty in Roopesh Shetty's Jai?

Roopesh first sparked rumors that he had persuaded Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep to join his film. However, things shifted when people started saying that he actually got Bollywood star Suniel Shetty to make his Tulu cinema debut. A few months back, Roopesh shared a photo from his meeting with Suniel, and now fans are pretty sure that Suniel will be part of the next schedule for Jai. 

Roopesh and Suniel have been friends for quite some time now. After Roopesh’s first film as a director, Girgit, became a huge success in Coastalwood, Suniel shared a video message to congratulate him. He expressed his pride and happiness about the success of Tulu cinema, saying, “I really appreciate your talent, direction, and acting for helping Tulunadu and Tulu cinema thrive.”

Suniel, who made his Kannada film debut in 2019 with Kiccha Sudeep’s Pailwaan, has openly expressed his desire to star in a Tulu film, but he wants the project to match his values. He’s mentioned that he’d be on board if the film’s earnings supported a good cause, like educating underprivileged kids. He’s also interested in collaborating with his Bollywood friends who have ties to Mangaluru, like Aishwarya Rai, Shilpa Shetty, or Rohit Shetty, for a Tulu project.
