While Stree 2 is dominating in the Indian markets, it is also leaving a mark worldwide. The movie, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, is now the second highest-grossing film of 2024 worldwide. Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan among others still takes the lead. However, Stree 2 is literally half-way there at beating the movie. Also, the long run that the movie is almost guaranteed to have, might just break the records set by Kalki 2898 AD.

Stree 2, the second-highest grosser worldwide

Minting Rs. 560 crores worldwide, Stree 2 is now the second highest-grossing film of 2024, worldwide. The first highest-grossing film of the year remains Kalki 2898 AD. The movie had earned Rs. 1,041.65 crores worldwide, thus becoming the highest-grossing film of the year.

Stree 2 vs Kalki 2898 AD

There are a lot of similarities and differences in Stree 2 and Kalki 2898 AD’s Box Office collections. For example, Stree 2 and Kalki 2898 AD both minted over Rs. 40 crores on its second Sunday (also true for Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, released in 2023), but Stree 2 minted Rs. 386.15 crores on its 11th day (excluding the paid previews on Wednesday) while Kalki 2898 AD already earned Rs. 510.05 crores net in India. Thus, Stree 2 is a strong competitor for the movie which is the highest-grossing film worldwide.

Stree 2 giving tough competition in India markets

Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2, also starring Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles with Akshay Kumar in a cameo appearance, has given the Indian markets a boost with its release. Although various Bollywood movies have been struggling to touch Rs. 100 crore-mark in the post-COVID era, Stree 2 has not just managed to touch it but is closer to earning Rs. 500 crores. Already minting over Rs. 400 crores, the movie will boast a Box Office collection of over 5 billion by the end of this week. It also does not have any strong competitor for months at an end (Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa, released on the same day, are struggling at the Box Office) and thus, Stree 2 is likely to enjoy its Box Office success for a long time to come (thus also taking the worldwide Box Office collections up many notches).
