It's not an exaggeration to say that we're all hooked on the box office battle of the year, where three massive movies are vying for supremacy in the Hindi film circuit. From the outset, it was clear that Stree 2 had no real competition, as it surged past the finish line with its advance bookings alone. As a result, the true contest is between Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, which are currently fighting for audience attention on the big screen. All three films, featuring stars like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Sharvari, were released on August 15. Now, as we enter the first weekend, all three have shown an upward trend in their respective capacities.

Stree 2 vs Khel Khel Mein vs Vedaa Box Office Clash Day 3

For those who may not know, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2, Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu's Khel Khel Mein, and John Abraham and Sharvari's Vedaa all hit theaters on August 15, 2024. While the sequel to the 2018 horror film has already won the race, the other two have struggled to find their audience amidst the Stree 2 wave that has overshadowed them. Let’s take a look at where these three movies stand at the moment.

Stree 2 Box Office Update

Stree 2 regained its momentum on Day 3 after a drop on Day 2, which was a regular working day during the long weekend. On Saturday, the film added another Rs 44 crore to its total, bringing the box office collection to a staggering Rs 135.7 crore. Stree 2 is now on its way to reaching the Rs 150 crore mark. It’s also worth noting that the film benefited from paid previews, which added Rs 8.5 crore to the total collection.

Khel Khel Mein Box Office Update

Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, and Ammy Virk's Khel Khel Mein is struggling at the box office, though it has seen a slight increase in momentum. However, this uptick does not place the movie in a profitable position. The film has now earned Rs 2.85 crore on Day 3, bringing its total collection to Rs 10 crore. This is still less than Vedaa, which was made on a smaller budget. This situation puts additional pressure on Akshay Kumar’s filmography, as he hasn’t had a hit in quite some time.

Vedaa Box Office Update

Audiences who have seen Vedaa generally agree that the John Abraham and Sharvari starrer has its strengths, despite some flaws. The film deserves better word-of-mouth promotion. It earned Rs 2.4 crore on Day 3, bringing its total collection to Rs 10.57 crore. This reduces the gap between Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein, as Vedaa had been leading for the first two days.
