Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: There is no doubt that all of us were caught off guard by the way Stree 2 has performed at the box office in India and worldwide. The movie, which was released during one of the biggest release windows of the year—Independence Day—has managed to win big, far beyond the expectations we had. This is a positive sign. Directed by Amar Kaushik and led by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the film has turned into a monstrous hit, spreading like wildfire at the box office. It is now nearing the Rs 300 crore milestone, and there seems to be no stopping it. On the eighth day of its release, the movie retained most of its momentum, although there was a slight dip. However, with the new weekend approaching, there's nothing stopping Stree 2 from taking flight again. 

Stree 2 Box Office Update

For the uninitiated, Stree 2 opened at the box office worldwide on August 15, which is India's Independence Day. The movie had some paid previews on the night of August 14, which fueled the film with an additional Rs 8.5 crore, putting it ahead of Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein right from the start of the race. These three movies, all led by major stars, clashed at the box office in what was one of the most significant battles in the Hindi belt in a long time. As we wrap up day 8, here’s what happened. According to Sacnilk, on its eighth day of release—also its second Thursday at the box office—Stree 2 managed to maintain the momentum it had seen during the weekdays since Tuesday. Monday was part of the extended weekend, so now the film has brought in an estimated Rs 16 crore. This brings the movie's total collection to Rs 290.85 crore. This figure is massive, even though the box office witnessed a slight dip. Stree 2 now stands just inches away from the Rs 300 crore mark.

What’s interesting is that Stree 2 now enters its second weekend, starting today. Friday night shows are already fast-filling, indicating the strong impact and buzz the movie has created. We will see whether the film can maintain the intensity at the box office like it did during its first weekend, or at least replicate most of it. Chances are, Stree 2 might pull off another monstrous weekend, solidifying its status as a blockbuster.

Stree 2 vs Vedaa vs Khel Khel Mein

The three movies—Stree 2, Vedaa, and Khel Khel Mein—clashed at the box office on August 15. The films star major actors like Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, John Abraham, and Sharvari. Despite the star power, it was Stree 2 that took home the trophy, leaving the other two films struggling to compete. Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein are making small gains at the box office. By the end of day 8, the John Abraham-led movie Vedaa stands at Rs 17 crore, while Khel Khel Mein is slightly ahead with Rs 19 crore.
