This year's Independence Day proved to be the golden opportunity for Stree 2. Not only has the horror comedy drama dominated the box office, but it has also made history. Despite facing fierce competition from Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa, Stree 2 has surpassed all expectations, raking in a staggering amount of tickets at the theatres within four days. The film is now rapidly approaching the coveted 200-crore mark, solidifying as a major success of the year. 

Stree 2 box office Day 4 collection

Sacnilk’s estimation suggests Stree 2 collected Rs. 55 crores on Sunday, August 18, which exceeded the opening day collection, and became Rs. 190 crores at the box office in total, within four days of its release. This impressive feat propels the sequel inching closer to the 200-crore club. With Rakshan Bandhan festival bringing a holiday in India, experts predict the Shraddha Kapoor-starrer will easily cross Rs. 200 crores within the end of Monday, August 19. 

Stree 2 might beat Fighter and Kalki 2898 AD

According to box office expertise, the horror comedy is on a track to achieve an impressive five-day extended weekend collection of Rs. 225 crores. It it manages to reach that figure, it would be a significant milestone by surpassing the lifetime box office collection of Hrithik Roshan-starrer Fighter in just five days, which grossed Rs. 237 crores worldwide. 

Furthermore, it’s also predicted that Stree 2 has all the potential to cover the Hindi box office collection of Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD, which was Rs. 227 crores. The sci-fi epic is currently holding the throne of the highest grossing film of the year. 

Stree 2 plot

After a long seven years, the sequel to the 2018 film Stree is back with a bang. Stree 2 returns to Chanderi, where a new kind of terrifying demon has emerged. This time, a headless monster is kidnapping women from the town under the cover of darkness. Stree, the mysterious entity, who once protected the town Chanderi, is drawn back to fight this new threat. 

Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and his loyal and trustworthy friends—Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi), Jana (Abhishek Banerjee), and Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana), reunite to defend the town once again. They are again joined by the mysterious woman, played by Shraddha Kapoor, who warns them that to defeat the evil is a race against time. If they fail, Chanderi and its people will be lost forever.
