Chhaava is a historical action film featuring Vicky Kaushal in the role of Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar. It draws inspiration from the Marathi novel "Chhava" written by Shivaji Sawant. As Sambhaji approaches Burhanpur, Aurangzeb vows not to wear the crown until he defeats Sambhaji and unleashes chaos across Maharashtra. Meanwhile, Sambhaji learns of Soyrabai's conspiracy from Aurangzeb's son, Baadshah Akbar, and pledges to protect his legacy from the Mughals. The Mughals find themselves humiliated each time they confront Sambhaji, while Aurangzeb, as he ages, remains fixated on reclaiming his authority.
