Netflix has now officially revealed that the show is set to premiere on June 27, 2025. They also dropped a poster showing a guard pulling a dead player towards a fancy coffin, surrounded by flowers. Hwang chatted with Variety about the upcoming Season 3 and what fans can expect. He mentioned, “I have to be careful with what I say to avoid spoilers. But I can share that once Season 2 drops, we’ll be revealing the release date for Season 3 pretty soon. I’m hoping it’ll be out around summer or fall next year.”

As for the plot, he shared, “Gi-hun has lost everything, including his best friend, and all his efforts have been in vain. So, what’s next for him? What kind of state will he be in? Will he keep pushing forward, or will he throw in the towel? When we kick off the third season, Gi-hun will be at a major turning point—he won’t be the same guy we saw in Season 2.”
