Fans upset with the number of episodes of Squid Game Season 3

The concluding chapter of Squid Game is set to premiere on June 27, 2025, generating considerable excitement among fans, despite a division of opinion regarding the events of the second season. Nevertheless, there is disappointment among the audience concerning the rumoured number of episodes for the final chapter. A report from OSEN in 2023 indicated that Netflix filmed Seasons 2 and 3 consecutively, totalling 13 episodes.

Given that the second season consisted of seven episodes, this implies that the final instalment will contain only six episodes. According to these reports, the total budget for both seasons is estimated to be approximately ₩100 billion KRW (around $68.7 million USD), suggesting that the visuals in the finale will leave a significant impression on viewers. In contrast to the concerns over the episode count, the news about the budget was received with enthusiasm by fans, generating excitement for the upcoming final season.
