Spider-Man 4: Will Tom Hardy reprise Venom in Tom Holland starrer? The actor breaks silence

The excitement surrounding both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Sony Spider-Man Universe is immense, especially with so much happening in relation to the Spider-Man world. Up next is Venom: The Last Dance (aka Venom 3), which is set to be the final film in the standalone trilogy led by Tom Hardy. Rumors have swirled that Hardy’s Venom may transition into the MCU, where he will team up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to defeat Knull, a multiversal villain set to be introduced in The Last Dance. While there has been no confirmation of this, Tom Hardy himself has now spoken out about whether he will appear in Spider-Man 4.
Tom Hardy’s Thoughts on Appearing in Spider-Man 4
According to Comic Book Movie, Tom Hardy recently addressed the rumors, stating that he doesn’t see himself joining Spider-Man 4—and the reason is intriguing. He said, “I don't see him in the next Spider-Man movie because I'd have the script, and I don’t have that.” However, there’s more to this than meets the eye. The actor could be keeping things under wraps, considering that he made a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his character, Eddie Brock, saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. At some point, both studios will have to address these connections.
Meanwhile, during his appearance at New York Comic Con last weekend, Hardy discussed his eventual exit from the Venom franchise. “Well, it’s been seven years today... I’ve absolutely loved playing Eddie and Venom. It’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life, so it’ll be sad to see him go,” Hardy said. He added, “I would like to fight Spider-Man. I would like to fight him right now. In a movie, 100%. I would never say never.”
Tom Holland Won’t Appear in Venom: The Last Dance
One of the biggest rumors this year has been that Venom: The Last Dance, which is reportedly connected to Spider-Man 4, would feature a cameo by Tom Holland as Peter Parker. However, this has now been ruled out by a well-known scooper, who confirmed that Holland has no involvement in the Tom Hardy-led film. This means that Holland will not appear in the movie, nor will he feature in the mid- or post-credits scenes.
The scooper also confirmed that Spider-Man 4 is evolving into a cosmic-level story rather than the street-level narrative Marvel Studios originally intended. “With each passing day, Spider-Man 4 becomes more and more multiversal than street-level. At this point, I dare say it’s leaning slightly cosmic,” the scooper revealed.
Spider-Man 4 is reportedly slated for release in July 2026. Stay tuned to Mobile Masala for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
