That the Sony Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) would eventually collide was inevitable. While Sony allowed Marvel Studios to use Peter Parker in their cinematic universe, it created a stir and led to some of the most lucrative projects in the last decade or so. Now, as the studio moves toward making Spider-Man 4, rumors are swirling about a much bigger crossover than Tom Hardy’s brief cameo in No Way Home. Reports suggest that Hardy, as Eddie Brock, will cross over into the MCU, which makes sense considering Venom: The Last Dance is his final solo outing in the franchise. A new detail now suggests that Tom Holland and Hardy will team up to fight a significant multiversal villain, introduced in the Venom 3 trailer. 

Spider-Man 4 To See Tom Holland and Tom Hardy join forces?

Yes, you read that right—a new rumor suggests a connection between Venom: The Last Dance and Spider-Man 4. When you watch the final Venom 3 trailer, it all starts to come together. The trailer introduces Knull, a major villain who is after the Symbiotes, and Venom and Eddie Brock must defeat him. Since the film continues Knull’s storyline and sets up the future, it seems likely that Knull won't be defeated in just one movie, as hinted by scooper Alex Perez.

According to Perez, this development gives the MCU room to bring Venom into Peter Parker’s world, leading to a potential battle against Knull. In his latest scoop, Perez wrote, "By the end of Venom: The Last Dance, we may see Eddie Brock cross over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some sources indicate that the recent reshoots in NYC for Venom: The Last Dance are related to this."

He added, "I’m also hearing that Knull could be the potential villain for this crossover film, seeking to enshroud the entire multiverse in darkness after discovering its existence." This means the SSU and MCU could come even closer, opening up numerous exciting possibilities.

But Who Is Knull?

Knull is a cosmic villain who fits perfectly into the multiverse strategy that Sony shares with the MCU. He is described as an eldritch god of darkness and the creator of the Symbiotes. Originally chosen by the Celestials to serve as the King in Black, Knull instead killed a cosmic being using a Symbiote as a sword. He waged a war against the Light and discovered that Symbiotes could bond with lesser creatures, giving him the idea to raise an army. As Knull has now awakened and is on Earth, it will be interesting to see how the makers of Venom: The Last Dance choose to introduce him into the storyline.
