The world has been eagerly seeking updates from the Spider-Man universe, as three studios are currently shaping their versions of the web-slinging superhero’s story. With so much happening, it’s nearly impossible for one person to stay on top of all the details about the various films and shows surrounding Peter Parker. The most talked-about project at the moment is, of course, the fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, Spider-Man 4. The Tom Holland starrer has sparked a multitude of rumors, and there’s no way you’re not already on board the speculation train. The latest buzz involves everything from Spider-Man 4 to a possible connection with Venom: The Last Dance. 

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to Return?

Ever since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been eager to know when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield might return to the MCU. Various rumors have connected Maguire to Avengers: Secret Wars and Garfield to the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man series. Now, according to Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, both Maguire and Garfield may appear in Spider-Man 4, and this time they may have extended roles. "There is a very strong possibility they show up for an extended role this time around," the scoop revealed.

This suggests we’ll see a lot more of them in Spider-Man 4. The same source claims that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will face multiple symbiotes and eventually don a symbiote suit that could feature in the next few films. "[He] will get the symbiote suit in the next few years and may keep it for the next couple of Spidey films." This would set the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars, possibly leading to his encounter with Tom Hardy’s Venom later on.

Tom Holland Won’t Appear in Venom: The Last Dance

One of the biggest rumors this year suggested that Venom: The Last Dance, which is reportedly tied to Spider-Man 4, would feature a cameo by Tom Holland as Peter Parker. However, the scooper has debunked this, confirming that Holland has no involvement in the Tom Hardy starrer. This means Holland won’t appear in the film or in any mid- or post-credit scenes.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that Spider-Man 4 is shaping up to be more of a cosmic-level story than the street-level narrative Marvel Studios originally intended. “With each passing day, [Spider-Man 4] becomes more and more multiversal than street-level. At this point, I dare say it's leaning slightly cosmic rather than street,” the source said.
