Spider-Man 4 - Peter Parker to suffer PTSD and will resort to vigilantism? Here's everything we know about this dark update

The world is not the same anymore for Peter Parker, who has been through a lot in the past few years, shaping his future. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is growing in an interesting direction, but the buzz around Spider-Man’s future is unparalleled. Everyone is hooked on every update about the next trilogy for Tom Holland and is eager to know where the makers are taking it. We’ve heard that the Symbiote will have a part to play, Venom will return but not as the main villain, and Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin will have some involvement. However, none of these reports address what happened to Peter.

Spider-Man 4 To Have Peter Parker Battle PTSD

Well, it seems someone heard our query and has given a probable answer. We already know that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is moving to the next stage in his life as he is now in college. But the central theme of the story is the loneliness he now lives with. Aunt May is no more, and MJ and his friends have forgotten him. No one remembers him, which means he returns home to absolute oblivion. This is the very thing the makers are planning to explore in Spider-Man 4. Read on to know everything you should about this development.

Spider-Man 4 will have Peter Parker take a Daredevil turn in his life. How, you ask? He is about to take refuge in vigilantism, and that’s not all. According to scooper MCM Culture, who has provided substantial updates in the recent past, Parker will be suffering from PTSD in his new trilogy. Sleeplessness will drive him to vigilantism, forming the base of the story. "In Marvel Studios Spider-Man 4, Peter will be processing the trauma of his past. He’ll be suffering from PTSD, not being able to sleep, and will be using his," the scoop read.

While it isn't confirmed, the trajectory makes complete sense for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4. Although he is the web-slinging superhero who has now been promoted to one of the top brackets, he has experienced significant loss in the past few years. The events of Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and especially Spider-Man: No Way Home have taken a toll. He has lost two of his most beloved people: Iron Man (Tony Stark) and Aunt May. He is now alone, as Doctor Strange’s spell has led everyone to forget his existence. In this scenario, he has nothing to bounce back on, making him a dark individual with nothing to lose.

Spider-Man New Trilogy Villains

Another scooper, Alex Perez, recently speculated that "Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin will be, if not, the final villains Holland's Spider-Man faces when his time as Spider-Man comes to an end." However, what is confusing is that Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn confirmed that none of his variants exist on Earth 616 and was sent back by Peter in No Way Home. How does he return, or does the studio plan to cast new actors for both villains? Only time will tell. Additionally, it is also speculated that Venom will return but not as the main villain. However, whether Tom Hardy will be the host is yet to be confirmed.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now streaming on SonyLIV and you can watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
