Soori has been having a fantastic run as lead actor, with films like Viduthalai, Garudan and upcoming Kottukkaali. Recently, the actor announced a new project, which will be helmed by director Prasanth P, who helmed web series Vilangu. It will be a family drama.
Soori announces new project
Soori, a comedian-turned-hero, has been getting glorious appreciation for his choice of films. After performing exceptionally well in films like Viduthalai, Garudan and Kottukkaali, the actor has announced his next project as lead. Soori will be collaborating with director Prasanth P, who made the critically acclaimed series Vilangu.
The announcement of the collaboration was made on recently on social media. The yet-to-be titled project, will be backed by Kumar Karupannan under the banner Lark Studios. It is to be noted that the same production banner had bankrolled Soori’s latest film Garudan as well. The information on the rest of the cast and technical crew details of the film have been kept under wraps for now. The upcoming film will mark the first time Soori is collaborating with director Prasanth. The project will fall under family drama genre.
Where to watch Prasant’s Vilangu?
Director Prasant made his debut with the 2017 film Bruce Lee starring GV Prakash Kumar. However, he shot to fame with his web series Vilangu starring Vemal in the lead role. The series is available for streaming on ZEE5 and alternatively on OTTplay Premium.
Vilangu is a 2022 crime thriller series which also stars actors Ineya, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth and RNR Manohar, among others. The series consists of seven episodes, and received positive reception upon its release. Vemal plays a sub-inspector stationed in the outskirts of Trichy. Having a fair share of problems of his own, he faces a hard time cracking a series of crimes that seemingly looks connected to one another. A second season of the series has been announced.
