Latest Malayalam cop drama Thalavan is set to release on digital platforms ahead of schedule. To the joy of fans who have been impatiently awaiting its OTT release, the investigative thriller, which stars Asif Ali and Biju Menon in prominent roles, will be available for viewing on Sony LIV starting on September 10. Thalavan, directed by Jis Joy, made its theatrical debut on May 24 and was met with enthusiastic reviews from the public.

The producers have previously disclosed the whereabouts of the film's online streaming service, which will be accessible following its theatrical debut. SonyLiv purchased the digital rights to the Jis Joy directorial before it opened in theatres. The digital release of the movie is much anticipated by movie enthusiasts and fans of the actors.

Following its 40-day theatrical run, Thalavan was expected to be accessible on the platform, following a current pattern in the Malayalam industry. However, it was postponed—possibly because of its wildly popular, more than 60-day theatrical run. Recently, Malayalee From India, featuring Nivin Pauly, and Mammootty-starrer Turbo debuted on the same portal for streaming.

What is Jis Joy's Thalavan all about?

Two police officers of different ranks, CI Jayashankar and SI Karthik, are at odds with one another during the majority of the film. However, things take a horrible turn when Jayashankar is charged with murder after a dead corpse is found in his house. In the interim, Karthik is assigned to investigate the case. Whether Jayashankar is truly at fault or merely the target of revenge is the main mystery of the film.

With an engrossing plot and superb acting, the movie offers a superb investigative thriller experience. Asif Ali and Biju Menon, in their different capacities as police officers, fulfil the public's expectations. The producers of the investigative thriller disclosed plans for a sequel last month at an occasion celebrating the movie's 65th day on the big screen.
