Actress Sonali Kulkarni, who was last seen in Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion as a journalist, is now gearing up for her next, Love, Sitara. The film will make its debut within two days, on ZEE5, on September 27, 2024. The romance drama has been making quite a buzz on the internet since its announcement. The film also stars Sobhita Dhulipala and Rajeev Siddhartha in lead roles. Kulkarni will be seen playing Sitara’s mother’s sister Hema, who is an air hostess. Recently in an interview, Sonali spoke about the film and shared her experience of working on Love, Sitara.

Sonali Kulkarni expresses her love for Sobhita Dhulipala

While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Sonali shared her fondness for Sobhita, and how much she adores her. The actress even stated that she finds Dhulipala's personality and nature quite similar to her. The Made in Heaven actress’ calm nature impressed Sonali.

Sonali shared, “I liked her nature a lot. I feel she is a bit like me. I can’t just start loving a person right at the onset and I don’t get excited with someone very early. That’s not my nature. I prefer being calm and then if friendship happens, it’s fine. Else, we can still happily work together. I felt her nature was the same. She is very co-operative and sweet natured. And she is too talented. I am looking forward to her career."

Sonali Kulkarni on her special Kerala connection

Malayalam culture and heritage have been portrayed highly in Love, Sitara. Hence, the actors had to take rigorous training in the Malayalam diction and gain knowledge about the same. She said, "I had to because I know Tamil, Marathi is my mother tongue, and I understand Hindi and Gujarati too. We had a dialogue coach in Malayalam, both during the shoot and dubbing. Local co-actors were very excited, so they always provided help. So, it was fun."

Kerala holds a special place in her heart as her first film Cheluvi was shot in Palakkad. Speaking about her Kerala connection, Sonali added, “I visited Kerala for a shoot for the first time after all these years. There is at least one Mallu in all my units. I always check if there is at least one Mallu in the team, so that my film receives good luck. And this entire film was in Kerala, so it was all the more good luck for me. There are people from different religions and communities over here and the atmosphere is so harmonious."

Directed by Vandana Kataria, the film Love, Sitara stars Sobhita, Rajeev, Sonali, and others in important roles. The upcoming film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala. You can also watch Love, Sitara through OTTplay Premium on September 27, 2024.
