Sky Force Advance Bookings Lag: Akshay Kumar's Film Needs a Boost for Strong Opening

Sky Force box office advance booking: After a busy January filled with releases, the second last Friday is set for the debut of Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. While initial estimates suggested a decent opening for the movie, the latest advance booking numbers indicate that it may need to pick up speed to secure a strong opening day and weekend, despite the added advantage of a public holiday.
Sky Force Box Office Advance Booking
As reported by Koimoi, by 10 am today, Sky Force had grossed ₹17.35 lakh in ticket sales across India, excluding blocked seats, which means it has made ₹75 lakh for its opening day so far. However, given the scale of the movie and Akshay Kumar’s star power, these numbers don’t seem promising. In comparison to his last film, Sarfira, Sky Force has only sold 23.13% of its pre-sales, which doesn’t bode well for a strong opening.
The film has sold over 9,400 tickets on day one, with over 4,100 tickets sold at major cinema chains like PVR INOX and Cinepolis. Regionally, Delhi is leading with ₹8.57 lakh in sales, followed by Maharashtra with ₹5.17 lakh. With only 2,400 shows currently allotted, the film's success will heavily depend on strong word of mouth and positive reviews to increase its screen count. Without this, its prospects for growth appear limited.

Sky Force Box Office Prediction
Fans of the stars have been eagerly following every update about Sky Force, set to release on January 24. Starring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur, the film has generated a decent buzz, especially with Veer’s debut. According to Pinkvilla, the movie is expected to earn around ₹9 crore on its opening day if it stays on course. If it receives a strong opening and maintains positive momentum, it could potentially rake in ₹30 crore over the opening weekend.
With its release coinciding with the Republic Day holiday, the film has an opportunity to flourish if word of mouth is strong. If this happens, Sky Force will completely overshadow Emergency and Azaad. Considering Emergency opened to ₹8.74 crore over its weekend and Azaad hasn’t even touched the ₹5 crore mark, it is evident that if Sky Force works, these two will fade from the big screen.
Sky Force Rating and Runtime Revealed
According to Pinkvilla, Sky Force has successfully passed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) check and received a UA 13+ rating, which is expected to work in the film's favour. Additionally, the movie has been approved with a runtime of 125 minutes, making it 2 hours and 5 minutes long. If confirmed, this could be the shortest Akshay Kumar movie in recent years, though the makers have yet to officially confirm this detail.
Sky Force is set to release on January 24, 2025. Stay tuned to Mobile Masala for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
