As bombs fall, George is sent to the countryside for safety, while Rita frantically searches for her son. McQueen, known for 12 Years a Slave, directs from his own script, with Ronan making a significant return to the screen. Blitz hits theaters on November 1 and streams on Apple TV+ starting November 22.

'Poker Face' Season 2 begins filming with Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson returning

Filming for Season 2 of Peacock's hit series Poker Face has begun, with Natasha Lyonne returning as Charlie Cale, the casino-worker-turned-mystery-solver. Directed by Rian Johnson, Season 1 received critical acclaim with a 98% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and multiple award nominations, including a Primetime Emmy for Lyonne. Season 2 will continue the "case-of-the-week" format, with Tony Tost and Lyonne also directing episodes. The series features a star-studded guest lineup and follows Charlie using her lie-detection skills to solve crimes across the U.S.

Rudy Mancuso joins cast of HBO's 'Welcome to Derry'

Rudy Mancuso has joined HBO’s It prequel series Welcome to Derry in a recurring role. Directed by Andy Muschietti, who also co-wrote the series with Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, the show will explore events before the iconic characters met Pennywise. Mancuso, known for his comedy, takes on a darker role in this highly-anticipated series. The cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, James Remar, Chris Chalk, and more. Mancuso recently directed and starred in Música, and will also appear in Muschietti’s The Flash. Welcome to Derry is expected to premiere on Max in 2025.

University of Idaho murders to get docuseries & scripted series at Prime Video

Prime Video is developing both a docuseries and a scripted series about the 2022 University of Idaho quadruple homicide. Produced by Skydance Television and Story Syndicate, the docuseries will be based on an upcoming book by James Patterson and Vicky Ward. Liz Garbus and Matthew Galkin will co-direct the docuseries, with Garbus also directing the scripted series' debut episode. The projects focus on the ongoing case against Brian Kohberger, a criminology doctoral student accused of the murders. Both series have no release dates yet but are highly anticipated.

Jonathan Frakes joins the new sci-fi series based on Arthur C. Clarke's 'Venus Prime'

Sci-fi legend Jonathan Frakes will produce and direct the miniseries adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's Venus Prime, set to begin production in Canada later this year. Based on Paul Preuss' six-book series inspired by Clarke's short stories, the series follows genetically-engineered Sparta solving interplanetary mysteries. David Cormican and Dwayne Hill will write and showrun, with Cormican, Anand Ramayya, and Juliette Hagopian producing. Frakes, known for his work on Star Trek, expressed excitement about the project, calling it a dream come true to work on such a revered piece of science fiction IP.

Netflix's new thriller series 'Sirens' casts Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock

Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock are set to star in Netflix's limited series Sirens, created by Molly Smith Metzler. The series, exploring themes of women, power, and class, will be directed and executive produced by Emmy Award-winning Nicole Kassell. Moore plays Michaela Kell, an enigmatic socialite with a cultish allure, while Fahy and Alcock portray sisters Devon and Simone caught in Michaela's world of luxury. The series, set over one explosive weekend at a lavish beach estate, promises to delve into incisive, sexy, and darkly funny narratives.
