Seema Raja is written and directed by filmmaker Ponram, marking his third collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan after Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajinimurugan. Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, the film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Simran, Soori, Lal, Napoleon, Manobala, and others with Keerthy Suresh making special appearance. Sivakarthikeyan plays dual roles in the film. Seema Raja revolves around a young man hailing from an affluent family who has to take up some responsibilities of being a saviour to his people after he comes to know of a certain past.
The film mostly received mixed to positive reviews upon its release. The technical crew of Seema Raja includes D Imman scoring the music and Balasubramaniem cranking the camera, Vivek Harshan is the editor.

Actor Sivakarthikeyan recently made a cameo appearance in Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time, in which he played himself. The actor is also looking forward for the release of his first biopic project, Amaran. He will be playing Mukund Varadarajan, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his operation with the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion.
Amaran is set to release in theatres on October 31. The film is written and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and has Sai Pallavi play the female lead. Backed by Raaj Kamal Films International, GV Prakash is scoring the music for Amaran.
After Amaran, Sivakarthikeyan is also working with director AR Murugadoss for a yet-to-be titled film, which will have actor Rukmini Vasanth as female lead.
