Silambarasan announces film with Ashwath Marimuthu; director promises 'This film will bring back..'

Actor Silambarasan, who was last seen in Tamil film Pathu Thala, announced a new Tamil film on Monday. The actor is all set to join hands with director Ashwath Marimuthu, who made the romantic comedy film Oh My Kadavule, for a yet-to-be-titled film.

Silambarasan has announced a new project. The project will be directed by filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu, who is currently working with Pradeep Ranganathan in Dragon. Silambarasan's new film will be backed by AGS Productions.

While the makers have not yet revealed much about the film, earlier while teasing the film, Silambarasan hinted that the film will bring back the vintage version of himself. Quoting his earlier films he posted, “Dum + Manmadhan + Vallavan + Vtv in Gen Z mode = NAMBA NEXT !!!”

“This film will bring back the vintage @SilambarasanTR_ in this new era to set the screens on fire for his STR bloods and i take it as a responsibility,” Ashwath Marimuthu said while making the announcement. The upcoming project will mark the first time Ashwath will be working with Silambarasan. Other cast and crew details of the film have not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, Aswath Marimuthu is currently working with Pradeep Ranganathan for a film titled Dragon, which is also backed by AGS Productions.

Silambarasan on Ashwath’s Oh My Kadavule

Ashwath made his directorial debut with Oh My Kadavule. The film is available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Earlier, Ashwath took to social media to share how Silambarasan loved his debut film Oh My Kadavule and had called him to appreciate the film at the time of its release.

The director had said Silambarasan was the first person to call him after watching Oh My Kadavule and talked about the film for one and a half hours.

Oh My Kadavule is a 2020 Tamil romantic fantasy comedy film starring actors Ashok Selvan, Ritika Singh, Vani Bhojan, MS Bhaskar, Vijay Sethupathi, and others. The film marks the director's debut and revolves around two best friends who get married only to learn that they are incompatible. The rest of the film deals with a divine intervention that makes them wonder if they are right for each other.
