Sikandar box office collection day 3: Salman Khan's action-thriller, Sikandar, premiered in theaters on March 30, 2025, coinciding with Eid. The film received a mixed reception from viewers initially but experienced a modest increase in attendance on its first Monday. Nevertheless, it appears that the film has faced challenges in sustaining its momentum following the Eid celebrations.
Sikandar witnesses a dip in number on day 3
As reported by Sacnilk, the film Sikandar garnered ₹29 crore on its second day of release. On its first Tuesday (day 3), it achieved a box office collection of ₹17.81 crore, bringing its cumulative total to ₹72.81 crore. The global earnings currently amount to ₹95 crore. The film did not manage to exceed the opening figures of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava or Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan, thus failing to become the highest opener of the year.
Conversely, the producers claim that the film generated a gross of ₹35.47 crore in India on its opening day and ₹39 crore on its second day, surpassing the ₹100 crore threshold in worldwide box office revenue. Given that it features Salman Khan, these figures appear somewhat underwhelming.
About Sikandar
The action thriller is helmed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for his works such as Ghajini and Darbar. This film signifies Salman’s comeback to cinemas following the disappointing performance of his previous release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, in 2023. Despite high expectations surrounding the film, a portion of the audience expressed dissatisfaction with the plot and criticized the performances of Salman, Sathyaraj, and Rashmika Mandanna. The cast also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in prominent roles.
In a discussion about collaborating with Salman on Sikandar, AR Murugadoss shared with PTI, “When working with superstars, it is challenging to remain completely faithful to the script. We must make concessions for the audience, their fan base, and the film's opening. As directors, we cannot always be entirely authentic. Our priority is to meet the expectations of the fans, which complicates the creative process.”
