Sikandar box office collection Day 13: Salman Khan's movie encountered significant competition from Sunny Deol's Jaat, which premiered in theaters on April 10. As a result, the superstar's film has seen a further decline, finding it challenging to surpass the ₹150 crore threshold at the domestic box office.
Salman Khan's Sikandar witnesses a dull show at box office
According to trade tracking site Sacnilk, Sikandar garnered only ₹75 lakh on its twelfth day, coinciding with the release of Jaat. On the thirteenth day, the film experienced a more significant drop, earning just ₹3 lakh, based on preliminary estimates. This brings the total domestic box office earnings of the film to ₹108 crore. Although it has surpassed the ₹250 crore threshold globally, it continues to face challenges in the Indian market.
In contrast, Sunny Deol's Jaat has sustained its box office performance, posing strong competition to Salman's Sikandar. The film, featuring Randeep Hooda, Regina Cassandra, and other prominent actors, has received favorable reviews from audiences and is anticipated to perform well over the weekend.
About Sikandar
The This action-thriller is helmed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for his work on films such as Ghajini, Kaththi, and Sarkar. Sikandar was among the most eagerly awaited films of the year, signifying Salman Khan's return to cinemas after the disappointing performance of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023. The film showcased him in a dynamic, action-oriented role. However, it did not meet the expectations of a segment of his fanbase. While some fans were excited to see Salman in a grand role, others expressed dissatisfaction with the film's weak plot and uninspiring visuals. The reception from critics and audiences was mixed to negative.
A passage from the Hindustan Times' review of Sikandar states, "Salman's dialogues in many of his earlier films, along with his signature dance moves, are iconic. In Sikandar, however, neither aspect stands out. The music is subpar, and none of the songs make a lasting impression. Santhosh Narayanan’s background score is effective in a few action sequences, but overall, Sikandar does not deliver the Eidi that Salman once promised to his devoted fans."
