This week, actor Siddharth’s film Miss You was expected to release alongside RJ Balaji-starrer Sorgavaasal. However, with Siddharth’s film getting postponed, looks like the dark and gritty film Sorgavaasal will be enjoying a solo theatrical release this weekend.

Siddharth’s Miss You release postponed

Citing the weather conditions and possibilities of cyclone striking Chennai and other surrounding areas, the makers of Miss You announced that their film’s release is postponed to a later date. The film was expected to hit theatres on November 29. A new release date is expected to be announced by the makers soon.

Miss You is directed by filmmaker N Rajasekar. Apart from Siddharth, Ashika Ranganath, Karunakaran, Bala Saravanan, Lollu Sabha Maran and others are part of the cast. Earlier speaking to OTTplay, Siddharth, who is back at making love stories, said, “I wanted to do a happy film, something breezy. I have been saying no to love stories because it is difficult to write original ones. But when I heard the line about a boy proposing to a girl he could not stand, that really interested me.”

RJ Balaji’s Sorgavaasal gets solo release

Now, with Miss You having postponed its release, looks like RJ Balaji-starrer Sorgavaasal will be enjoying a solo theatrical release on November 29. The film, which is set in a prison, is written and directed by Sidharth Vishwanath in his debut. Selvaraghavan, Natty, Karunaas, Saniya Iyappan, Sharaf-U-Dheen, Hakkim Shah, Balaji Sakthivel, Anthonythasan, Ravi Raghavendra, and Samuel Robinson are part of the cast.

Thamizh Praba, Ashwin Ravichandran and Sidharth Vishwanath have worked as the writers in the film. Others part of the technical crew consists of Prince Anderson as the cinematographer and Christo Xavier scoring the music. Selva RK is the editor. Sorgavaasal has been censored A, and will be available for streaming on Netflix after its theatrical run. The OTT release for the film is on cards sometime in December end, or early January 2025.
