Bommarillu, the 2007 Telugu romantic comedy drama is once again set to hit big screens. Starring actors Siddharth and Genelia in the lead roles, the film will release in theatres on September 21, the makers announced on social media.

Bommarillu is a romantic drama featuring actors Siddharth and Genelia in the lead roles. It is written and directed by Bhaskar in his directorial debut and backed by Dil Raju. On Saturday, the producer's Sri Venkateswara Creations announced that Bommarillu will be re-releasing in theatres on September 21, to create magic onscreen once again.
Also starring actors Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sunil and others, the film revolves around a son who lives with his family and controlling father. However, one day he falls in love with an outgoing and childish young woman. After coming to know his son's love, the father is determined to make him realise his decision is wrong and invites the girl to live in their house for some time.
Bommarillu opened to positive reception upon its release and went on to become one of the celebrated films of Telugu film industry. It was subsequently remade in Tamil as Santhosh Subramanian, with Genelia and Prakash Raj reprising their roles. Actor Jayam Ravi played Siddharth's role in the Tamil version.

One of the most celebrated aspects of Bommarillu was the music scored by Devi Sri Prasad. The film is also available for streaming on Prime Video. The cinematography was handled by Vijay C Chakravarthy and editing done by Marthand K Venkatesh.
Bommarillu released on August 9, 2006 and went on to win many awards and became one of the highest grossing Telugu films of that year. Apart from Tamil, it was also remade in other languages, including, in Bengali as Bhalobasa Bhalobasa, in Odia as Dream Girl, and in Hindi as It's My Life.
