Shriya Saran has confirmed that she is a part of Tamil star Suriya's upcoming film, which is tentatively titled Suriya 44. The movie is being written and directed by filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. Earlier this year, it was reported that Shriya was going to do a special dance number in the romantic action film. Now, in an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Shriya has confirmed that she shot for a dance number in Suriya 44.

Shriya Saran, who was recently seen in Star Vs Food: Survival Season 2 for an episode, shared a few details about her special dance number in Suriya 44. Confirming her appearance in the Karthik Subbaraj directorial, Shriya told OTTplay, "I have done a song in it. It is shot very beautifully and it is very classy. It will be nice. I think you will like it."

Previously, it had been reported that Shriya's song was shot in Ooty. The shooting locations for the Suriya-starrer included Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, and Chennai. Santhosh Narayanan has worked on the music for this movie.

Talking a bit about the film, Santhosh earlier told us, "For me the reference for Suriya 44 is Alaipayuthey and that’s the vibe we want to get. It is a perfect blend of action and love." For those who are unaware, Suriya is reportedly going to play the role of a gangster in the film. The star cast also includes Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran and others.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shriya starred in the Disney+ Hotstar series Showtime this year. Also featuring Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy, and others, the web show premiered on March 8, 2024. It was created by Sumit Roy while Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar directed the series. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the series delved into the world of Bollywood and how the production houses function.
