Shreyas Manju Takes on Vishnu Priya to Showcase His Acting Skills

Shreyas Manju, who’s only done two films so far, has been honing his acting skills for a bit now. He shares that his upcoming movie, Vishnu Priya, hitting theaters on February 21, was like a masterclass for him. He really leaned into the direction of VK Prakash, who helped him shine in this demanding role. “I’m not just looking to be the leading man with my name splashed across posters; I want to be recognized as an actor who can truly embody a character. My aim is to make the audience feel every emotion of the character, and Vishnu Priya really allowed me to pursue that goal,” he told Kadakk Cinema.

The whole movie really relies on the performances, especially from the main duo, Shreyas and Priya Prakash Varrier. "Throughout the character's journey, there's plenty of room for acting, which I found really exciting. As someone who loves films, I’m all about emotional dramas and tear-jerkers, and in Vishnu Priya, there are tons of moments where the characters don’t even say a word; it’s all about their expressions. Prakash sir was super focused on making sure those scenes felt as real as possible. In this space I had, especially since it’s only my second film, I’ve given it my all. I really want to show everyone that I’m putting my heart into this to prove I can act," Shreyas shares.

After finishing the film, Shreyas shared with OTTPlay that Prakash pulled him aside and praised his growth as an actor. “He mentioned that if I was a 3 out of 10 after Paddehuli, then with Vishnu Priya, I had jumped to a 7 or even higher. That really made my day,” Shreyas recalled. He also mentioned that working on this film helped him unlearn some habits from his debut, which was a semi-commercial project that called for a more exaggerated acting style.

Vishnu Priya features music composed by Gopi Sundar and has stunning cinematography by Vinod Bharathi. The movie also includes Achyuth Kumar and Suchendra Prasad in key roles.
