Punjabi singer Kamal Grewal’s biopic Shonk Sardari Da has finally found its digital home on Chaupal. KS Ghuman’s family drama film also marks Kamal’s acting debut with a star-studded ensemble cast. The 2023 film Shonk Sardari Da is Chaupal’s latest offering that is gearing for its much-awaited OTT premiere. Directed by KS Ghuman, the movie is slated for its digital premiere on November 5. Based on the true events of Kamal Grewal’s life, the upcoming biopic also marks the renowned singer’s debut in Punjabi cinema. K.S. Ghuman spearheads the movie by serving dual roles of director and writer. Kamal Grewal, who is known for songs like Mulakat, Sardari, and Kabza, marked his acting debut in the Punjabi cinema as he headlined the biopic. The star-studded ensemble also features Irwin Meet Kaur, Manni Boparai Mama Baddowalia, Parminder Gill, Yaad Grewal, Jarmanjeetsingh, Avtar Nijjar, Tarsem Paul, Rana Rangi, Nirmal Rishi, Gurmeet Saajan, and others.

Based on the real-life events of Kamal Grewal’s life, Chaupal’s upcoming family drama Shonk Sardari Da revolves around the lead character (played by Kamal Grewal in his debut) and his father as they grapple with the frauds and clashes of the NRI-owned properties. Set in a beautiful Punjabi town, the movie takes you on a wild ride of family drama, bitter clashes, gang rivalry, and some sweet romance.

Backed by JP Films and Motion Pictures, this gripping biopic premiered theatrically in June 2023. Joginder Singh Grewal, Kamal Grewal, and Harpreet Sandhu teamed up to produce the venture.
