Daaku Maharaaj is the latest film featuring Balakrishna, which premiered on January 12, 2025. Directed by Bobby Kolli, this action drama has achieved a box office gross of just over ₹80 crore, securing its financial viability. While its theatrical run is nearing completion, the Hindi version was launched on January 26, 2025, coinciding with Republic Day.

Regrettably, the film starring Urvashi Rautela has encountered a poor reception in the northern regions. To date, Daaku Maharaaj has garnered only ₹34 lakh in Hindi, indicating disappointing earnings and underscoring Balakrishna's limited appeal in Hindi-speaking markets.

Prior to the release, producer Naga Vamsi expressed confidence that Daaku Maharaaj would resonate well in the North, given its setting. However, this expectation did not come to fruition, and the film struggled to make a significant impact. The Tamil version also faced challenges, resulting in unsatisfactory box office returns.

Daaku Maharaaj crosses Rs 80 crore mark in Telugu

In contrast, the film has successfully crossed the ₹80 crore threshold in Telugu. This success can be attributed to the favorable Sankranthi season, which provided multiple holidays and a strong opening. Balayya’s fans and the general audience welcomed the film enthusiastically. Additionally, Urvashi Rautela contributed to the film's visibility with her bold assertions regarding its record-breaking performance in Telugu. While this initially generated excitement, it ultimately had a negative effect on the film's reception.

Currently, Balakrishna is experiencing a peak in his career, having delivered four consecutive hits, including Daaku Maharaaj. The music composed by Thaman, especially the background score, has notably enhanced the film's appeal.

At present, Balakrishna is engaged in the filming of Akhanda 2 in Hyderabad. He was recently awarded the esteemed Padma Bhushan Award by the Indian government, and a grand event is being organized to honor him.

Despite its success in Telugu, the Hindi version of Daaku Maharaaj has concluded as a box-office failure. Netflix has acquired the OTT rights for this film, which is set to be available for streaming on February 9, 2025. Further updates on this project will be provided as they become available.
