Shivarajkumar's Bhairathi Ranagal first verdict confirms September release

A month ago, there was a strong buzz that Century Star Shivarajkumar’s upcoming Bhairathi Ranagal would not make its date with audiences as per the originally announced plan – August 15. The reason cited was that director Narthan had not finished the shoot of the film, with some delay attributed to the leading man’s absence when he took time off to campaign for his wife in the last Lok Sabha elections.

It is only earlier this month that the team announced the official end of filming and today, on Shivarajkumar’s birthday, they have confirmed what’s been speculated all along – Bhairathi Ranagal will not be in theatres on August 15; it will be a September release. The team did not specify a date, but sources close to them suggest that an end of September outing is on the cards.

Tentative release plan

OTTplay had earlier reported that September 27 is a likely date, although, this would mean a direct clash with NTR Jr’s Devara. According to sources, Shivarajkumar’s second home production will be in theatres most likely on September 26, which will be announced shortly.

The teaser that came out on the occasion of the actor’s birthday does not shed much light on his character’s early days as a lawyer, but hinted that his days of violence began when he ran out of patience. Shivarajkumar is paired with Rukmini Vasanth in the film, with the actress playing a doctor. Rahul Bose is the main antagonist in the film, and his look and character has been kept under wraps so far.

Bhairathi Ranagal will be Shivarajkumar’s second release of the year, after Karataka Damanaka. The actor has an interesting lineup of films, of which, 45, the directorial debut of composer Arjun Janya and Uttarakaanda, the gangster flick by Rohit Padaki, are in production.
