Bhairathi Ranagal, the prequel to director Narthan’s Mufti, is only 3 weeks away from its date with audiences. The film’s focal point is Bhairathi Ranagal, the crime lord who ruled over Ronapura, and was sent to jail at the end of Mufti. Who is Bhairathi Ranagal and how did he become this ruthless gangster, who is feared by one section and revered by another? That’s what the film Bhairathi Ranagal explores.

Produced by Geetha Shivarajkumar, as the second venture after of Geetha Films after Vedhaa, Bhairathi Ranagal will be in theatres on November 15. The team has been giving away very little about the film, and while the first teaser, which they called First Verdict was a sneak peek into the world of Bhairathi Ranagal and hinted at the bloodshed that would be unleashed, as Shivarajkumar as the title character is heard saying that whenever he’s run out of patience, a lot of people have lost their lives.

Teaser 2, which features no dialogue, then looks at the people who will have significant impact on Ranagal, either good or bad. Bollywood actor Rahul Bose is the main antagonist of the film, while Rukmini Vasanth is paired with Shivarajkumar and plays a doctor. There are also glimpses of Avinash, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, among others, but the highlight has got to be Shivarajkumar in his trademark black shirt and charcoal grey dhothi as Ranagal.

The film has music by Ravi Basrur, and while the BGM is quite noteworthy, it was quite similar to that of the First Verdict. A full-fledged trailer is expected on November 1, although the team is yet to announce the same. Leading man Shivarajkumar has started promotions of the film, despite his current ill health. The Century Star had recently opened up about his struggle with an undisclosed ailment, for which he is currently under treatment and requires surgery too. He is expected to head to the USA after the release of Bhairathi Rangal, for the surgery.
