Kannada film icon Shiva Rajkumar has officially announced his participation in Jailer 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2023 hit Jailer featuring Rajinikanth. During a press conference for his forthcoming Kannada film 45 – The Movie, Shiva expressed his enthusiasm and astonishment regarding the positive reception of his extended cameo in the original film. "I am involved in Jailer 2, and filming has already commenced," he disclosed, further stating, "To be honest, I did not anticipate the level of appreciation I received for my role in the first part. I accepted it primarily because Rajinikanth Sir was involved—he is like a father figure to me."

Reflecting on his memorable moment in Jailer, Shiva Rajkumar reminisced about how his seemingly simple actions—entering with a cigar and casually moving a tissue box—unexpectedly resonated with viewers. "I never imagined the tissue box would create such a stir," he chuckled. "Even now, my wife asks me what I actually did in Jailer, and I genuinely have no clue." He attributed the success of his scene to the exceptional talents of cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, director Nelson Dilipkumar, and composer Anirudh Ravichander. "I feel fortunate, and I am grateful to everyone who contributed to this," he concluded with sincere humility.

Jailer 2, helmed by Nelson and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, aims to continue the legacy of its predecessor, with Rajinikanth reprising his role as the legendary titular character. The film also features SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa Menon. With Shiva Rajkumar officially part of the project, fans can look forward to another unforgettable moment, possibly even surpassing the now-iconic tissue box scene.

At the same time, Shiva is preparing for the launch of "45," an action film in Kannada that represents the directorial debut of music composer Arjun Janya. The film, produced by Ramesh Reddy, boasts a talented cast that includes Upendra, Raj B. Shetty, Jisshu Sengupta, and Kaustubha Mani. As Shiva juggles several prominent projects in various languages, his influence remains a unifying force across different film industries, captivating audiences throughout the country.
