Sharmila Tagore is one of the most loved actresses in the film industry. The veteran actress debuted with the 1959 Bengali film Apur Sansar (The World of Apu). After that, she has done several superhit movies such as Aradhana, Amar Prem, Chupke Chupke, An Evening In Paris, Namkeen, and many more. Now, as per a new report, Sharmila Tagore is all set to return to the big screen with a movie titled Outhouse.

PTI reported that Sharmila Tagore will be returning to big screen with the movie Outhouse. Directed by Sunil Sukthankar, the film's cast includes actors such as Sonali Kulkarni, Neeraj Kabi, and Sunil Abhayankar.

Speaking more about Outhouse, it will explore unexpected companionship, intergenerational connections, and the transformative power of trust and empathy. 

Producer Agashe on Outhouse

In a statement, producer Agashe said that Outhouse is a wholesome family entertainer that promises some wonderful, heartfelt moments that will brighten up the festive season. 

"It is a story that reminds us how even the smallest encounters can lead to the biggest transformations. It was a joy working with Sharmila Tagore, Sonali Kulkarni, Neeraj Kabi and Sunil Abhayankar who have helped in bringing this emotional journey to life," he added.

Tagore's most recent film was the family drama Gulmohar. Recently, it was named the Best Hindi Film at the 70th National Film Awards. The movie, directed by Rahul V Chittella, also starred Manoj Bajpayee, Simran, and Suraj Sharma.

In an exclusive conversation with OTTplay, Sharmila Tagore shared her first reaction to Gulmohar winning two National Film Awards: Best Hindi Film and Best Dialogues. 

"I am absolutely over the moon. I just love it and I am so happy. I just spoke to Rahul (Chittella), Simran and Manoj (Bajpayee). We have stayed friends since the movie and we are absolutely over the moon," she said.

Before Gulmohar, Tagore was seen in the 2010 movie Break Ke Baad with Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan.
