Shahid Kapoor's first web series, Farzi, is set to make a comeback with its highly awaited sequel after an exciting first season in 2023. The talented directing duo Raj and DK created a thrilling series for Prime Video that had viewers on the edge of their seats with its gripping cliffhanger and well-crafted narrative. Filming for Farzi 2 is scheduled to kick off in December 2025, with a projected release around mid-2026.

Raj and DK are focusing on Rakht Bramhand before they dive into Farzi 2

Even though they're deep into their giant series, Rakht Bramhand, Raj and DK are said to have begun early talks for a sequel to Farzi. A source told Pinkvilla that right now, Rakht Bramhand is taking up all of Raj and DK's time. Once they finish up with that project, they plan to kick off pre-production for Farzi 2 and aim to start filming by December.

The first season of Farzi wrapped up with an exciting hint of a big clash between the clever conman Sunny (Shahid) and the tough cop Michael (Vijay Sethupathi). Kay Kay Menon, who plays the menacing villain Mansoor Dalal, also plays a significant role in shaping the story. This builds anticipation for a thrilling showdown in the upcoming season.

Shahid has teamed up with Raj and DK, known for Go Goa Gone, to outline the main storyline for the sequel. Sources say that Shahid, Vijay, and Kay Kay will all face off in the next installment of Farzi.

Shahid hit a significant personal milestone with the show, stepping into long-form storytelling for the first time. The dynamic chemistry and tension between the lead characters captivated viewers, and his performance as a smart yet morally questionable counterfeiter received a lot of acclaim.

He’s wrapping up his work on Dinesh Vijan's Cocktail 2, which is a follow-up to the 2012 blockbuster, before diving into Farzi 2. While he’s also planning a feature film to go along with his romantic comedy, there are whispers that he’s looking at several scripts.

With Farzi 2 on the way, fans can look forward to an even more gripping sequel to the exciting chase that had them hooked — and it seems the stakes are going to be even higher this time!
