In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan made a solid comeback on the big screen after 4 years of hiatus. Both his releases, Pathaan and Jawan went on to break several box office records and become one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. After winning the hearts of the audience in India and overseas, Khan's film Jawan was released in Japan on November 29, 2024. His fans in Japan love the film and it has been receiving an overwhelming response. On December 1, Shah Rukh took to social media and reacted to the positive reaction.

Shah Rukh Khan reacts to Jawan's release in Japan

Jawan marked Shah Rukh Khan's first collaboration with Atlee. The film also marked Nayanthara's debut in Bollywood. In the film, the superstar played a double role and wowed the audience with his craft. A while ago, King Khan reacted to a post shared by his fan club and expressed gratitude for the love his film has been receiving in Japan. 

His heartfelt note read, "Been reading about the love pouring in from Japan for #Jawan… thank you all and hope you enjoy this film in your wonderful country. We made it from India for the world… and glad it’s being enjoyed all over. My love and thanks to all who have watched it in Japan." Have a look:

Meanwhile, Jawan also starred Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Vijay Sethupathi, Ashlesha Thakur, Riddhi Dogra, and more in important roles. It also featured Sanjay Dutt in a special role. In India, according to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 640.25 crore while it managed to garner Rs 1160 crore worldwide.

Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming project

Shah Rukh is now all set to return to the big screen with Sujoy Ghosh's King. The film also stars his da ughter Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles. The action-packed drama will reportedly be released on Eid 2026. Although the makers are yet to announce the project officially, it is being reported that Khan and the team will begin shooting for it in January 2025. 

Earlier, a report by Pinkvilla said, "The first schedule of King commences in Mumbai in January, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have conducted multiple rounds of scouting in Europe to identify fresh locations that will add scale to King. The film stars SRK in the titular role alongside Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, and Abhishek Bachchan."
