It's raining biopics in Tamil cinema. After Dhanush announced that he will be featuring in Ilaiyaraaja's biopic, another biographical film is in the making. Veteran actor Sathyaraj is all set to play the role of Indian politician and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the upcoming biopic of the latter. The announcement was made on Saturday.

Sathyaraj in Narendra Modi biopic

The makers on Saturday announced that Sathyaraj will be playing the role of Narendra Modi in the upcoming biopic. However, the cast and crew of the upcoming film have not yet been revealed. It will be interesting to see how Sathyaraj, who once had played social reformist Periyar in the latter’s biopic, will be essaying Narendra Modi, the face of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

The film is directed by RJ Balaji himself and opened to positive reception.

Malabar Police - SunNXT

Malabar Police is a 1999 crime comedy drama written and directed by P Vasu. The film stars Sathyaraj in dual roles, along with Abbas, Khushbu and Mumtaj among others. The film revolves around a couple who elope, only to have witnessed a minister's murder. There is also an officer, played by Sathyaraj, who is investigating the case.

Ricksha Mama - SunNXT

Ricksha Mama is a 1992 film directed by P Vasu and it stars Sathyaraj, Gouthami, Khushbu, Goundamani and others. The film revolves around a little girl whose mother died after giving birth. While she is brought up by her rich grandfather, she becomes close to a rickshaw driver without realising that he is her birth father.

En Bommukutty Ammavukku - Raj Digital

En Bommukutty Ammavukku is a remake of Fazil's Malayalam film Ente Mamattukkuttiyammakku. The film revolves around a couple who have a loving daughter. But when she dies in tragic incident, they adopt a girl similar to her age. Problems come up when the adopted daughter's birth parents seek her. The film stars Sathyaraj, Suhasini, Raghuvaran, Rekha and others.

Nanban – Disney+ Hotstar

Directed by Shankar, Nanban is a remake of Hindi film 3 Idiots. The film stars Vijay, Srikanth, Jiiva, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sathyaraj among others. The film is set in an engineering college run by a strict principal and how the arrival of one care-free student changes the situation of how education has to be perceived.
