Family dramas have been really popular with Tamil viewers lately. Following the success of the family drama Kudumbasthan, which featured Manikandan in the lead, another film in this genre is on the way. Tourist Family, starring actor-director S Sasikumar and Simran, is scheduled to hit theaters soon. The film's release date is set for May 1, as announced by the creators on social media this Tuesday.

Abishan Jeevinth has wrapped up shooting for his debut film, which he both wrote and directed. This project marks the first collaboration between Sasikumar and Simran. The cast of Tourist Family features Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bucks, Elango Kumaravel, and Sreeja Ravi. The film is produced by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banners of Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment. The teaser for the film was released earlier, generating a lot of excitement among viewers.

While you're waiting for Tourist Family to drop, check out Kudumbasthan, a family drama from 2025 that's streaming on OTTplay Premium at a discounted rate. The movie features talents like Guru Somasundaram, Saannve Megghana, and Prasanna Balachandran, among others. It's directed by newcomer Rajeshwar Kalisamy and tells the story of a sole provider who loses his job and struggles to keep his family in the dark about his financial troubles.

Kudumbasthan received a warm welcome when it premiered and has become the fourth highest-grossing Tamil film of the year so far.
