Sarfira advance booking: Akshay Kumar's film to take a slow start? Details!

Directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, Sarfira starring Akshay Kumar, Radhikka Madan, Paresh Rawal, Seema Biswas, and others is all set to release in theatres tomorrow, i.e., 12th July. The film is a remake of Tamil film Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya in the lead. Soorarai Pottru was an adaptation of G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. As Sarfira is gearing up for its release, let's take a look at the advance bookings of the film.
Sarfira Advance Booking
According to the reports by Sacnilk.com, the Akshay Kumar starrer has earned over ₹24 lakh so far in advance booking for its opening day. 12102 tickets have been sold for 3269 shows so far which grossed ₹24.04 lakh in Hindi.
For the uninitiated, Akshay was last seen in the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan co-starring and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film was a box office dud despite being made on a massive budget and various promotional activities. For Sarfira, Kumar did not take the promotional route. It will be interesting to see how well the film does at the box office which will completely depend on good word of mouth by the critics as well as audiences.
Sarfira is Khiladi Kumar's 150th film that is releasing in theatres. Talking about the same Akshay stated, "This is my 150th film and it is my best film. I am very thankful to Sudha for giving me this film and the opportunity to be in it".
The trailer of the film focuses on inspiring ordinary people to pursue ambitious dreams despite seemingly impossible odds. Sharing the film's trailer, Suriya recently praised Akshay's performance and expressed his gratitude on his social media account. On Instagram, Suriya wrote, "This is our respect to @capt_gr_gopinath sir, who inspired millions of Indians and thank you @akshaykumar sir for taking @sudha_kongara 's story across our country and beyond! Proudly presenting the trailer of #sarfira."
Sarfira will release in theatres near you on July 12, 2024.
