With many sequels in the making in Tamil cinema, one among them is Sardar 2. The film will feature actor Karthi in the lead role and has gone on floors recently. On Friday, the makers announced that actor Malavika Mohanan will be joining the cast of the sequel.

Sardar 2 is the sequel to the 2022 Tamil film Sardar which starred Karthi in the lead role. The film is directed by filmmaker PS Mithran. Once again, the duo will be joining hands for the sequel of the spy thriller. The makers of Sardar 2 announced that actor Malavika Mohanan is part of the sequel. However, her role details are kept under wraps.

It is to be noted that recently, a member of the team working on the film died due to the injuries he suffered after the accident on the set of the film. Stunt union member Elumalai feel from a 20ft rostrum accidentally and succumbed to injuries.

Sardar is a spy thriller film which features Karthi in a double role as Agent Sardar Chandra Bose and Inspector Vijay Prakash.

Where to watch Sardar

Sardar can be streamed on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. Sardar became one of the first Tamil films to be bagged by Aha after the streaming platform began their Tamil division. It stars Rajisha Vijayan, Laila, Raashii Khanna, Chunkey Pandey and others who played important roles in the film. However, it is not known if these actors will be making a comeback for the sequel.

George C Williams ISC is the cinematographer and Vijay Velukutty will serve as the editor for the sequel. It is to be noted that apart from Karthi and Malavika Mohanan, the film also stars SJ Suryah in a prominent role. The actor is expected to play the primary antagonist in the film.

Meanwhile, Malavika will be next seen in Thangalaan which will release on August 15.
