The trailer for Hitlist, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor-politician Sarathkumar in the lead role, was released by the makers on social media on Friday. The film is written and directed by Sooryakathir Kaakkallar and K Karthikeyan.

The trailer begins with Sarathkumar's character addressing someone called Kali and saying that his boys are waiting to finish him off and he will be killed in the blink of an eye. On the other hand, we are shown several montages from the film and the main characters are introduced in glimpses. There is a killer on the loose, a group of gangsters hunting down somebody, Gautham Menon, as someone in power. Sarathkumar plays the role of a police officer and the trailer is loaded with many stunt sequences. Hitlist is touted to be a thriller, with the antagonist fashioned after a psycho killer on the loose.

Besides Sarathkumar, the film also stars known faces like actors Vijay Kanishka, Samuthirakani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Munishkanth, Redin Kingsley, Sithara, Smruthi Venkat, Aishwariya Dutta and others. Hitlist is backed by veteran filmmaker KS Ravikumar under the production banner R K Celluloids. Hitlist appears to be an action thriller film. More about the plot is yet to be revealed by the makers.

The film is directed by Sooryakathir Kaakkallar and K Karthikeyan. Sooryakathir Kaakkallar has also written the screenplay and dialogue for the film, with Devaraj penning the story. The technical crew consists of music by C Sathya, with K Ramcharan handling the cinematography. The film is edited by John Abraham. A release date for the film has yet to be announced by the makers. Vicky and Phoenic Prabhu have coordinated the stunt sequences.

Meanwhile, Sarathkumar was last seen in last year's crime thriller Paramporul and critically acclaimed film Por Thozhil. The actor has Niranga Moondru co-starring actors Rahman and Atharvaa Murali in the film Criminal. The release dates for the film are yet to be announced.
