Santhanam's admirers were delighted this Tuesday with the unveiling of the first-look poster for DD Next Level, the sequel to the acclaimed DD Returns, coinciding with the actor's birthday. This film penned and directed by S Prem Anand—who also directed the original DD Returns—is scheduled for theatrical release in May 2025.

The poster showcases a self-assured and intrepid Santhanam, nonchalantly holding a crutch fashioned from bones, which represents his character's distinctive combination of humour and horror. In the background, a foreboding poster featuring Gautham Vasudev Menon, Selvaraghavan, and other cast members suggests a dark and thrilling ambience for the film. This striking new visual has heightened the anticipation surrounding the sequel, which aims to elevate the horror-comedy genre to unprecedented levels.

Produced by Arya and Niharika Entertainment, DD Next Level boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Selvaraghavan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Geethika, Yashika Aannand, Maaran, Nizhalgal Ravi, Kasthuri Shankar, and Rajendran. With such a skilled group of performers, the film is set to deliver captivating portrayals alongside the franchise's hallmark blend of humour and excitement.

The film's score will be composed by oFRo, while editing is managed by Bharath Vikraman, and cinematography is entrusted to Deepak Kumar Padhy, ensuring that the technical elements align with the film's compelling narrative.

The Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise, which commenced in 2016 with the inaugural film directed by Rambhala, swiftly achieved commercial success due to its unique fusion of horror and comedy. The sequel, Dhilluku Dhuddu 2 (2019), and the third instalment, DD Returns (2023), also garnered favourable box office results, solidifying the franchise's popularity. Now, with DD Next Level, fans are eager to witness the continuation of the story, promising even more laughter, frights, and unexpected twists.

Scheduled for release in May 2025, DD Next Level is anticipated to keep viewers enthralled while providing an ideal mix of spine-chilling thrills and comedic moments.
